Exposing Excellence In Collision Repair
Next Steps

If in an accident, here are suggested steps to follow:

  • Remain Calm.
  • Call 911 if anyone is hurt.
  • Do not exit from your vehicle if in traffic – remain in the car until authorities arrive.
  • If possible, move your vehicle to a safe area before exiting.
  • If you are injured, get medical assistance quickly and do not worry about your vehicle. Authorities will have the information on file where your vehicle was towed to and you or your representative can deal with it later.
  • If uninjured and able to exit your vehicle safely, follow the checklist to gather scene information.
  • If possible, take photos of damage to your car and other vehicle/s.
  • If your vehicle is safely drivable, it is best to go home and relax.
  • If your vehicle is not drivable, authorities may have it towed and give you the location information.
  • Contact someone to pick you up from the scene and take you home to relax.
  • Once home and relaxed, report the accident to your insurance company.
  • Locate a VeriFacts shop on our shop locator in your area. It is your decision where to have your vehicle repaired, not your insurer.
  • Make an appointment with the repair facility of your choice to take your vehicle in for repair.
  • The repair facility will give you an estimate on how many days until your car will be repaired and usually keeps you informed on the repair process. Some facilities even send you photos of your progress.
  • Always ask for an estimate BEFORE the repair begins.
  • When picking up your vehicle, you should obtain a FINAL REPAIR SUMMARY and workmanship guarantee from the repair facility.
  • Inspect your vehicle – take a close look at the repair and pay attention to the way it drives. If anything looks, feels or sounds unusual, take the car back to the repair facility for resolution.
  • Return to life as usual and drive safely.
